Hello, Your work means a lot to me. I just finished my MA in Translation Studies and my thesis was an analysis of your work with Guillermo Cabrera Infante and Manuel Puig, mostly focusing on Tres tristes tigres and La traicion de Rita Hayworth. More so than a strictly textual analysis, I was trying to look at the cultural impact of your work with the two authors and analyzing it in terms of feminist and postcolonial translation theory. If you are interested you can take a look (it is finished-- I will send it to you) but I guess it would be sort of an odd experience to read analysis of yourself and I am not sure I would want to... Anyway, just wanted to say that I really admire both your academic work and the conscious way in which you translate. Your book The Subversive Scribe was a great read and a wonderful piece to work with for two years! Thank you so much for writing it and for the work you did with Puig and Cabrera Infante.
I do hope we can continue a kind of dialogue about this. My MA work is done, but it was something I really enjoyed as a project and I would like to find some way of continuing it.
I apologize for the length of this message, but really just want to say thank you for the inspiration you have given me.

All the best,
Kate Heximer
